A Mohican Wedding in April! YES!
We love a good barn wedding, especially in Mohican! The Grand Barn at The Mohicans is a magical place to get married especially with how gorgeous our April was this year, we even had some green on the trees.
Paula + Misty strolled into my Today’s Bride booth over 2 years ago. We hit it off pretty instantly. When we met for the consultation we drank coffee and chatted for over 3 hours. The beautiful start to a friendship.
After the engagement session, it really solidified our forming friendship. Since we have had Harry Potter Trivia nights, dinners and the highest honor was giving a speech at their wedding.
They were affected by the pandemic like so many, and while they got married the year before this celebration of their love was one for the books. What a fairytale. They started with an intimate first look, followed by a ceremony officiated by their dear friend and their friend’s partner Levi translating in ASL! No detail was left unturned, and we got to work alongside some of our favorite vendors including videographers at Workshed Weddings!
We had rainbow-colored smoke bombs, and some moody photos, which is a little outside of our typical style, however, these dreamy photos called to be a little moodier with the smoke in the background of their love. Thankful we were near a lake though because one smoke bomb did catch on fire, it was the orange one, and she was lucky enough to be able to throw it. Always be aware of your surroundings if using smoke bombs especially in parts of the country with drier climates where fires could easily be started.
The night ended with a dance under the full moon and a phenomenal sparkler celebration. Which we do when it’s dark and not at the end of the night for a couple of reasons. There are more people, and wrangling drunk people can be difficult at the end of the night.
